Moon Dreams

Saturday, August 20
I'm getting better at cooking for myself lately, which is great, because, I mean, it's about time.
And about time, cooking's all about it, in my experience so far. I enjoy the challenge in multitasking over the stove, making sure this is well-on-its-way and that looks-about-done, and making sure everything is done cooking at about the same time, so it's all still hot. Simple things to a good cook, but for me I still find pleasure in it.
Sometimes my mind is races with the chemistry of it all, or what shambles of chemistry I can remember from Mr. Breslin. There are still things I don't fully understand (but could easily Google of course), like what exactly causes an egg to turn opaque whilst cooking? I don't know, something with proteins or some shenanigans, maybe.
Ah, and choice of silverware, depending on the mood, is very deliberate for me. There's a whimsical sort of importance in planning which way you decide to tear apart what you've created. I don't know.

Been listening to more Miles Davis lately, something that I really appreciate about his music now that I couldn't before. Maybe I had the wrong album. Did you know he apparently beat his wife? And that his own dad allegedly decided to teach young Davis the trumpet as a child because his mom disliked the sound of the trumpet in particular?

I'm really full now, yikes, time to lay down and think about that really funky ass dream I had last night.
Needless to say, it involved my driving instructor, Louis C.K., a large shopping mall, and a copious amount of iPads.
